CONMEBOL Copa America

The oldest existing international competition of them all. The South American Football Championships began as a Centennial Tournament to commemorate Argentina’s independence with guests Brazil, Chile & Uruguay chosen to participate in what would be the first edition of the Copa America back in 1916.

Following its success CONMEBOL was founded and in 2016 the competition reached its 100 year anniversary with 16 teams participating in the finals in USA. With 10 member associates from South America and six more invited from North America who often participate in the competition as guests.
