On the radar of many big clubs in the English Premier League the conundrum of Jack Grealish who has been no secret to controversy in the past has often been down to, can he cut it with the big boys? Can he do it often enough and does he have the right frame of mind to do it on a cold Wednesday night in Stoke?

Grealish glides like no other player in the country, socks rolled down his ankles he moves like a young George Best effortless with guile, he rubs opponents up the wrong way and they just want to kick him.

Ian Holloway today commented that “he’s as smooth as a baileys poured over ice at Christmas”. Grealish can pass like Glenn Hoddle and can run like Ryan Giggs. But perhaps it is more to do with what is in his head to whether he goes on to fulfill a potentially promising career?

Loaned out to Notts County in 2013 Grealish has earned U21 caps for both Republic of Ireland and England and has already been the star of the show in an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley for Villa all of four years ago. But this summer could potentially define the career path of Grealish who could go on to big things with or without Aston Villa.
