Watched: : Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal (Sunday 27th August 2017)
Performance: 8 out of 10
Potential: 8 out of 10
Tall and physical with pace seems to be the perfect blend for a defender that can play centrally but at Liverpool it is at full back where he is starting to make a name.
Gomez signed for the Anfield outfit in 2015 from Charlton Athletic and played five times as an 18 year old but suffered an acl injury just four months into his Liverpool career that kept him frustratingly side-lined until January 2017.
Gomez since the turn of the year has played three cup matches and has already made three Premier League starts this season with some dangerous attacks from the right back position.
The London born defender who made 21 Championship appearances for Charlton as a teenager can fill in a variety of positions and has a sensible head on young shoulders, his ability to get forward and his comfort-ability on the ball add to the power and obvious physical stature that he possesses. An England defender of the future? Unless Spain get there first I would very much say so.
