Ready made world class youngters are few and far between, but aged 21 playing for the most successful club side in Europe, and with a La Liga title, Champions League, World Club Cup, Super Cup and three Spanish caps already Marco Asensio is certainly proving himself comfortable in the top echelons of the game.

An electric footballer who anticipates things that others don’t see. Asensio has a wand of a left foot and technique to rival any other player in his star studded Real Madrid team.

Originally playing on his native island for Mallorca, Real Madrid signed the predominantly left footed attacker for just €3.9m in 2014 before loaning him back to ‘los bermellones’. After a further season long loan at Espanyol Asensio broke into the Real Madrid first team during 2016/17 under Zinedine Zidane and has already proved more than a reliable deputy for the likes of Ronaldo and Bale.

Playing under a Manager who strongly believes that he has the qualities to succeed it wouldn’t be a surprise if he became a long term successor to the throne as he certainly has the potential to be Real Madrid’s next best thing. And there aren’t many people you can say that about.
