The Scout: Sead Kolasinac

Age: 24

Position: Defender

Club: Arsenal

Country: Bosnia

Watched: : Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea (Sunday 6th August 2017)

Potential: 8 out of 10

Moments before this big Bosnian Sead Kolasinac got up off his seat to replace the injured Per Mertesacker to make his official debut during the Community Shield victory over Chelsea, I turned to my Arsenal mate and said “He’ll be a cult hero”.

And less than an hour later he had his first gunners goal heading home a free kick proving his quality in both boxes.

As a left wing back Kolasinac was named in the Bundesliga team of the season last year and filled in comfortably in a back three for Arsenal, his presence and physique already earning him the nickname the ‘Bosnian Hulk’.

What Kolasinac will bring to Arsenal is a much needed dimension of physicality and one that has been missing in their play since the days of Campbell & Vieira.

Where Kolasinac will play for Arsenal might be determined by how others are doing in their positions but his versatility already proving a useful tool and I predict a real Premier League hit from this toughest almost old fashioned style footballer.
