What better place to start our scouting mission than with the last man to score a world cup final (winning) goal for England.

Calvert-Lewin is a tall, leggy awkward forward who is far from the finished article. But in an Everton side criticised for lacking pace he could be a vital instrument as he offers an extra dimension which they might just need this coming season.

The former Sheffield United academy graduate has already learned the hard way in football survival with loan moves to non-leaguers Stalybridge Celtic and fourth tier Northampton Town.

Since signing for Everton in 2016 Calvert-Lewin has been increasingly used by Ronald Koeman largely as a substitute and scored the winning goal for England U20 in their world cup final against Venezuala.

With the attributes and attitude to become a top striker it will be interesting to see how he develops under a Dutch tactician who strongly believes in youth.
